Senior Women's Cricket Information
The aim of this page is to answer FAQ's and provide knowledge about the Women's Cricket Program at Kilsyth for those interested.
In 2020/21, Kilsyth Cricket Club began its women's cricket journey and formed an inaugural women's team. After a successful inaugural season and a few establishment seasons, Kilsyth is looking to expand its numbers with the goal to field an additional women's cricket team in 2024/25. Kilsyth CC is proud to support women's participation in sport through fielding a community cricket team, enabling them an environment to benefit physically and socially through playing the game of cricket.

Eligibility
Who can play/who are we recruiting?

KCC is open to recruiting women/girls from age 13 of all experience and ability to play in the senior women's team.

KCC is also seeking to recruit girls from ages 5 to 18 of all experience and ability to play in our junior program. Please see our Juniors page for more information on playing junior girls cricket at Kilsyth.

Fees
Are there any costs/fees?

There are no fees for new players at Kilsyth for season 2024/25.

There are fees for returning players from last season. These help to cover the costs of match balls, Club affiliation fees, umpires fees etc.
Competition and Match Information
When are games played? How long do they run for? When does the season start?

The women's team competes in the RDCA.

The formats played are Twenty20 competitions (20 overs a side) & One Day competitions.

All matches are played on weekends on a Sunday afternoon.

The cricket season generally runs from October through until March.

There is a break over the Christmas period. The fixture will detail a full schedule of the season.
Attire and Equipment
Are there uniforms? Do I need to purchase equipment?

All players must wear Kilsyth Cricket Club's playing uniform when competing in the women's cricket competition. Please speak to the women's co-ordinator (details mentioned below) who will pass your requests onto the merchandise manager to help you sort out obtaining the appropriate attire.

The playing uniform consists of black playing pants, club playing shirt and club cap or a wide brim hat.

Regarding playing equipment, Kilsyth have a women's cricket with all the required equipment needed to play the game that you are free to use at games and at training. Alternatively, you can purchase your own equipment from your local sports store,
Training
When is training?

Training times for this season are TBC, please speak to the women's co-ordinator (details mentioned below).

Generally, the Women train together once or twice a week for around one hour.

Pre-season training is held from August to September indoors at a local indoor cricket centre before moving outdoors for the remainder of the season.
Registration
I want to play, how do I register?

All registrations for Women's cricket association wide are only taken on PlayHQ. To play cricket in the RDCA you must register via PlayHQ. This is a very simple, safe and secure process.
